EAAF participated in the Skoll World Forum 2025/ Oxford, England.

The @EAAFoficial was invited to participate as a delegate in the #SköllWorldForum2025 — a global gathering of changemakers advancing transformational social change for a more sustainable, peaceful, and prosperous world, that took place 1–4 April in Oxford, England. The Forum convenes 1,500+ social entrepreneurs and innovators, funders, storytellers, government and business leaders, and other change makers such as leaders of social ventures, NGOs and nonprofits. Mercedes Doretti, General Director, and Alejandro Bautista, Senior Advisor, took part on behalf of EAAF. That week, they also attended the Marmalade Festival and the Side Bar, two Skoll parallel collaborative forums addressing similar issues and open to everyone.

For decades, EAAF has used cutting-edge forensic sciences not only to investigate human rights violations and humanitarian problems in over 65 countries, but to restore dignity, memory, and truth to victims, their families, and communities. Our work reminds us that science and technology innovation can be powerful tools for justice and memory.

At @SkollFoundation, EAAF has helped bring to light the importance of science application on truth-telling in post-conflict societies and humanitarian crisis, the role of civil society, victims’ family groups and NGOs in defending human rights, and the necessity of cross-sector collaboration to protect civic space globally. At the same time, the forums helped us in finding new ways to look at solutions to our problems. Ideas are ‘field transferring’: meeting people from diverse environments was truly invigorating.

El @EAAFoficial fue invitado a participar como delegado al #SkollWorldForum2025, un encuentro global de organizaciones que trabajan para lograr un cambio social en un mundo más sostenible, pacífico y próspero. Este foro convocó a más de 1,500 emprendedores sociales, financiadores, creadores de historias, líderes gubernamentales y empresariales, y otros agentes de cambio, como líderes de emprendimientos sociales, ONGs y organizaciones sin fines de lucro. Mercedes Doretti, Directora General, y Alejandro Bautista, Asesor Senior, participaron este año en representación del EAAF. También asistieron a eventos en el Marmalade Festival y el Side Bar, dos foros paralelos abiertos al público.

Nuestro trabajo muestra que la innovación científica y tecnológica puede ser una herramienta poderosa para la justicia. En Skoll, el EAAF ha contribuido a visibilizar la importancia de la aplicación de la ciencia en la búsqueda de la verdad en sociedades post-conflicto y crisis humanitarias, el rol de la sociedad civil, los grupos de familiares de víctimas y las ONG en la defensa de los derechos humanos, y la necesidad de una colaboración intersectorial para proteger el espacio cívico global.

Los foros nos ayudaron a pensar nuevas soluciones a nuestros desafíos. Las ideas pueden trasladarse de un área a otra; conocer personas de contextos diversos fue inspirador.
