Concluded the 9th Latin American School of Forensic Sciences and Human Rights

The 9th Latin American School of Forensic Sciences and Human Rights, organized by the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team (EAAF), has concluded. The training brought together professionals from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Paraguay, consolidating a space for regional exchange and cooperation.

The central objective was to strengthen technical forensic capacities through an interdisciplinary approach. Theoretical and practical training sessions were developed, deepening work methodologies and tools for direct application in forensic work.

The program, carried out over two intensive weeks, covered various thematic areas such as the fundamentals of criminalistics, the investigation of feminicides, the use of forensic entomology, and forensic genetics, among others. Workshops on forensic archaeology and laboratory analysis of skeletal remains were also held, along with fieldwork practices oriented toward the search, recovery, and identification of missing persons.

The closing event consisted of a two-day gathering where each participant presented cases or forensic experiences from their region, emphasizing the connection with the victims’ families. These activities allow for the articulation of networks, the establishment of criteria, and the promotion of quality standards in Latin American forensic practice, reaffirming the commitment to justice and human rights.
