Between 2008 and 2018, EAAF was called upon by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide ongoing training to local technical staff at the Legal Medicine Organization (LMO) in Tehran, as well as to conduct a technical assessment of needs for improvement at the technical level and in the management of corpses and information.
Furthermore, from 2011 to 2018, EAAF actively participated as a consultant in the ICRC’s strategy to improve the mechanism for searching for and identifying people in the Iran-Iraq conflict (including technical roundtables for bilateral discussion), which involves the LMO, the Kawsar Research Center for Missing Martyrs and the Committee for Search and Recovery of Mortal Remains.
