At the request of non-governmental organizations and Indonesian authorities, EAAF has conducted various missions since 1999 to provide training on the search for and identification of human remains.
In 2003, EAAF went to Indonesia on a mission to hold a workshop for forensic specialists and local NGOs. It also advised the NGO Contrahaz on the production of a book regarding the uses of forensic anthropology to scientifically document human rights violations.
